Things You Must do in Miami

First of all, don't even try to go to Florida in summer...you'll probably die, of humidity. Definitely go in winter, you can expect clear skies all day and weather in the 70's.

Here are some things we did....

1. Wynwood Walls

This former dump has been transformed into a gallery of street art and graffiti, contributed by the top street artists in the world! This gallery is large, you can find street art at nearly every block and wall. This art gallery is free, just pay for parking.

There are also many cute, artsy shops and restaurants around worth checking out. There are over 50 artists representing 16 different countries and covering 80,000 square feet of walls.

2. Crandon Park

Crandon Park is a beach on the Key Biscayne island, only about a 17 minute drive from the center of Miami. I love this beach because it's a family beach, there are hundreds of palm trees and white sand, and free roaming iguanas.

I also witnessed the most beautiful sunset here!

TIP: Don't stay after dark, you'll get eaten alive by mosquitos.

3. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

This old Italian styled mansion is 180 acres and is $10 for students (regularly $18). For me, it was definitely worth the 10 bucks. The house was so charming and the many acres of garden was nice to stroll through.

Back then, Vizcaya was $26 million to build in 1910...its estimate now is between $338 million to $8.7 billion!

4. Mr. Bing

Trick your friends with this look alike roast beef ice cream, it's actually shaved ice cream! (It looks exactly like roast beef when you spread it apart) Yummy but a little expensive ($6 ice cream with $1 toppings).

Some other things I hope to see next time are...

1. Venetian Pool -- a huge Italian style public pool.

2. The Art District -- known for their chic and modern art.

3. Holocaust Memorial -- a powerful tribute to the Holocaust.
